Arsenal vs Spurs
9th January 2008 – Carling Cup SF 1st Leg – Emirates Stadium

Nervous is the best way of describing how I feel about tonight’s match. It’s been nearly 10 years since we were beaten by spurs and I feel that tonight could be the night. They have there full side and we will be playing a younger team made up of fringe players and reserves.

The team tonight is:

Lukasz Fabianski
Armand Traore
Philippe Senderos
Justin Hoyte
Johan Djourou (Bacary Sagna 46)
Gilberto
Denilson
Abou Diaby
Theo Walcott (Mark Randall 90)
Robin Van Persie (Eduardo 46)
Nicklas Bendtner

My confidence isn’t helped when I hear that the yids calamity keeper Paul Robinson has been dropped too. He is so crap he will also make mistakes which will give us chances. Without him it may be harder for us to score.

We start off at a very good pace, as we usually do regardless of the players.

We dominate the first 10 mins and I start to feel confident that we can win this game.

As we continue to dominate I start to think that we need to turn our dominance into goals.

In the opening 20 mins we control the game but the goal doesn't come.

I think that this relaxes spurs as they start playing their own counter attacking game and are able to carve out a few chances.

It's the tossers from down the road that score first and to make it even worse it's Ashley’s boyfriend Jemaine Anus that scores. The scummy spurs fans go made like they have won the league, not that they would know that feeling ;)

They have the best of the possession up to ht but there are no more goals.

Half-time

We must play better in this half but we don’t. We are very, very lucky that it wasn't worse because the visitors missed multiple chances for the second goal.

Against the run of play we somehow manage to get an equaliser and it comes from an unlikely source, Theo Walcott. I dint see it very clearly because it was at the other end (the spuds won the toss and switched ends meaning arsenal played towards the scum supporters in the 2nd half). I guess the good thing about this is that they would have seen it go in!

It's a tense finale as both teams have chances to win but it ends up 1-1 in a match we should have lost. I don't think they will ever beat us!
