Scum vs Arsenal
22nd January 2008 - Carling Cup SF 2L - Shite Hart Lane

I have been looking forward to this match for the past couple of days. Again I'm nervous as we lead up to KO but I feel more confident when I see out team which is stronger than I was expecting.

The line up tonight is:

Lukasz Fabianski
Bacary Sagna
Justin Hoyte
Armand Traore
Eduardo 65
William Gallas
Denilson (Cesc Fabregas 19)
Abou Diaby
Gilberto
Alexander Hleb
Theo Walcott (Emmanuel Adebayor 65 )
Nicklas Bendtner

There's so much at stake tonight with an appearance in the first league cup final at the new Wembley for the winners, never mind bragging rights. I really want to get to Wembley this year with Arsenal, and to beat the yids on the way would top it off.

They are favourites tonight, mainly due to the fact they have a full strength side and Arsenal are playing squad players – not quite the youth team though tonight.

Gilberto has the first shot of the game after 2 minutes but it goes well wide but only 30 seconds after the Yids take the lead. Jenas scores from outside the box with a not very powerful shot but it somehow beats the 7 arsenal defenders in the box and goes past the keeper into the net.

After 5 minutes Denilson goes down injured with what looks like a pulled hamstring but he gets up after treatment and is able to carry on.

We start to play some good football and on the 10 minute mark we have a good effort on goal but Bendtner’s header goes over the bar.

On 14 minutes there’s a nervous moment when Keane is through into the box but Gallas is able to get back and prevent the shot.

At the other end we have to successive corners but they are both poor and nothing comes from them, not even a shot.

Denilson is unable to continue and is replace by Cesc Fabregas in the 17th minute.

The first booking of the match goes to Steed Malbranque for a late lunge on Bacary Sagna, who luckily is not injured.

We are playing well both attacking and defending, although I shit myself overtime Tottenham have the ball in our half of the pitch.

It all goes Pete Tong though when Bendtner heads Berbatov’s free kick into our net. What a time to score an own goal.

On 28 minutes Berbatov should have made it 3 nil but his shot hits the post. Maybe that’s a good omen.

At the other end we have a free kick by the corner flag which Sagna heads on target but it’s saved.

We are still playing well considering the score line but our only real effort in the next few minutes is a poor Diaby shot on 33 minutes.

The same player has a better shot from range in the 36th minute but it goes over the bar again.

I am not going to write any more notes now as I want to concentrate on the match. I’ll write more when the match improves.
